My own kids don't go there but I know families whose children do, and all love it. The latest Ofsted and results are superb. One of the most sought-after schools in the borough these days. I presume this is for an in-year admission? If you got a good feel from your visit I'd go for it.

Sorry Diana just realised I said the exact same thing to you weeks ago on another thread! If you are leaning towards Torriano then go for it. Abacus was set up for a catchment in Belsize Park so I imagine the vast majority of kids live there. From what I know of your situation, Torriano would be more your local school. Both very good schools so sure you'll be fine either way, good luck and hope someone with personal experience will be along soon.

Hello again )))

I really like both schools and I am very particular what is it that I am looking for

My main concern about Torriano is the size of it ( very big) and also the fact it doesn't seem to have too much middle class influence unless I'm wrong ?

I saw it when there was a Christmas party going on so got to see few parents ...

Hi Diana - Torriano is only 2 form entry so average sized? I wouldn't be too concerned about that, there are lots of advantages to a two as opposed to one form entry school, both social (more kids to choose from making friends) and financial (bigger school = bigger budget, more teachers, greater flexibility with staffing & potentially more retention as a result, after school club choice, lunchtime activities etc). The children are still being taught in classes of 30, whether that's the only class in the year or not.

As far as I know there are plenty of MC families there but it's a local community primary, there will inevitably be a mix of kids. That reflects the area really.

Go for it!

Plenty of Mc children if that’s your thing. I know families who preferred it to Eleanor Palmer or KT.

Are you the parent with a child at KT nursery? If so I’d snap up the Torriano place. It would give you a bit of security for the younger child, you’d get a sibling link for reception admissions.

My youngest got into Kentish Town for reception low but oldest still on Torriano
Happy with both schools to be fair.
