Do state primary schools teach German in year 6 and is it possible to get a level 5 in tests? Just curious.

All State Primaries do a language from y3
It’s usually French or Spanish but some may do German or another one
My DC never did any tests in the language at Primary though

'Level 5' as an assessment grade no longer exists, and was never given in German or any other foreign language. as it wasn't formally examined, either by teachers or external examiners. So no, it isn't possible.

Thanks, that's what I thought. I was treated to a monologue about how well somebody's son was doing because they had got level 5 German in an important school exam. Oddly, when my son spoke to the boy in German he didn't seem to understand.
