Learning French in year one

Bonjour, I'm looking for support materials to help DD to learn French, such as apps or books etc. I've seen the one third stories and think they look good but they are quite expensive. If anyone has suggestions as to anything similar it would be great. For reference, she started French lessons this year (yr 1) at school but they are pretty basic. Thank you

Lots of French songs for kids on YouTube too which little children pick up really quickly.

Oooh yes good idea. She likes the A1 French for Kids songs. I seem to remember her saying something about liking Toto at school too so I'll have a look for that. Thank you and have a good day

There's a good book and DVD you can buy called "Chansons et comptines de notre enfance" from Amazon France (has blue and white cover) that contains all the well known French nursery rhymes and songs. Or look around for something similar that's downloadable.

My ds loved watching French cartoon and learning theme songs on you tube.

Now he learns French online using these free sites.

Club petite perriot has a great cd for kids. YouTube has loads of French cartoons. Buy some French audio books. If you can get a French ah pair or hire a French au pair a few hours during the weekend to help with the French.

And good French books for children are tchoupi petit ours and trotro. These are also good cartoons that can be found on YouTube.

Thanks everyone. I've been trying to work out what trotro was - she told me it was a donkey called toto so I've been googling it for ages but couldn't find the right thing!
Thx
