Please could someone give me some more info about this.

My daughter started in reception in September and I was chatting to another mum at a school social event who said she is the person who goes round the local schools doing Open Book which she said is about getting children interested in Christianity. She said that there is songs and something that sounds a bit like Christian affirmations.

I'm not entirely comfortable about my daughter being exposed to this if it's not side by side with equal exposure to other faiths and beliefs but I thought I'd see if I could get some other opinions before I did anything further.

I'm going to do some online research as well but I'd value some of your firsthand opinions too.

When my dd was in Junior school, she was lucky enough to get basketball coaching, and the chance to play matches against other schools and in small tournaments. This was because there happened, at the time she was in Yrs 4 - 6, to be a basketball enthusiast in the neighbourhood who had the time, skills, and desire to share her love of the sport. I'm fairly ambivalent about basketball myself, but wasn't going to turn down something that expanded my dd's horizons simply because there wasn't a volunteer from the local netball league or korfball league or skittleball league who had the time and enthusiasm to come in too. I am happy that my dc get all sorts of experiences and look at each one as a positive, rather than saying they can't have 'a' unless 'b, c, d, e, and f' are also available.
