Advice on primary schools in Brooklands Sale

We are moving into the Brooklands area and starting to look at primary schools in the area. The 3 we are in catchment for are Brooklands, Sandilands and Heyrod Lane (not sure yet which have spaces available).

Can anyone offer any advice or insight as to which would be best if we can get a place? Slightly concerned as my middle girl is very sensitive so it is really important we find the right school.

We are also looking at advice for nurseries and wrap around childcare for before/after school clubs.

Do you mean Sale, Manchester? Many Trafford borough schools are oversubscribed so you need to talk to the local authority. They may not have places at any of these, and you may need to travel farther a field.

They are very helpful so see what they say before asking for recommendations.

Rach2009 join the M33 group or Sale, Altrincham & Timperley Mums and Dads group on Facebook and ask for advice. It's very hard to get a Primary School place round here in year. Brooklands is very popular.

Are you a Manchester or Trafford resident? I assume you mean Heyes Lane not Heyrod

If you are a Manchester resident you will need to make an in year application to the LA. If you are a Trafford resident you can apply directly to the schools except for Sandilands which is a Manchester school. Sandilands,there isn't a catchment area as such. They have a published admissions criteria and it goes on distance from school but if you are a Manchester resident with no other offer of a school then they will be a category 4 admission. If no places at your preferred schools they will offer nearest school with a vacancy. Both of these only apply to Manchester residents though.
