Hi mums,

I have recently relocated from India and currently staying in Tower Hamlets ( Canary Wharf). I will soon be applying for Reception year 1 admission for my ward when is 5 years old. I am aware that at this time of the year I will not be able to secure any seat in the excellent grade school. However, I would like to have your feedback / suggestions / reviews for other schools in Tower Hamlets so that it's easy for me to take a decision. In particularly looking for Arhnem Wharf, Harbinger , Cubitt Town, Bygrove Primary and Seven Mills. Would you also suggest applying in any of the nearest boroughs ? Also, just out of curiosity if a child does gets an admission in the schools not in in the catchment area , will he/ she be provided transport facility ?

Your valuable feedback is much appreciated. Looking forward :)

Thanks
Kirty

If the child was 5 before September 1st you need to apply for year 1 admission, if since then Reception . This is a separate process as an In Year admission. Your first port of call should be the local council to find out which school/s have a vacancy in the correct year group, that in itself will limit your choice. If the only available school is further than 3 miles away you may be entitled to transport for the child although unlikely t be the case in central London.

Next time, put the words Tower Hamlets in the title of the thread.
