How crazy is this?!!

I'm a primary teacher and today I went for interview at a school I know well. Got the job! Long story short, I'm going be a Reception Teacher in exactly the same classroom I was a reception child in 34 years ago!!! How mad is that?!!

I actually know a couple of teachers at senior school level who teach where they went to school.

I am a TA. Had my interview in my Reception classroom, but ended up getting a Y1 job, working in my Year 1 classroom. After a year, got offered maternity cover for a term in my Year 2 classroom, but ended up getting a job over at the Juniors, and am now spending my second year working in my old Y4 classroom.

The school is three form entry, so there's only a 1 in 3 chance of working in the classroom which was mine in any given year group, plus the whole school has been almost rebuilt since I was there, and the Y4 classrooms are the only place which is exactly the same as it was when I was there! So a pretty big group of coincidences!

I think it's amazing. I can see you will be very motivated and do so much great things fr your children. Lucky them! Congratulations!
My ds had such an amazing reception teacher who made him so much positive about school. I am sure you will do the same to many.
