Moving in reception year

My son has made a great start to reception. I love his school. But now we're moving 5 miles away. Part of the reason for the move is that his current school is a 10 minute drive away and I want us all to walk more and sit in a car less. He has 2 younger siblings. The new house has 2 good schools on the doorstep.
However, today I went to visit one of the schools. And I liked it. I just didn't love it. I feel so guilty about him having to settle into another school, especially as his current school is so great.
Has anyone moved their child during reception and did it work out ok? I'm sure that being able to walk to school will be a big lifestyle changes for us, and will outweigh the positives of his current school, won't they?
Any reassurance gratefully received! Thanks

Children adapt so quickly. Sure all will be fine. Just remember the bigger picture.

I moved one of mine after five days ... no problem, he barely noticed!

Thank you. That's what I needed to hear!

Walking to school is such a huge positive.
Your child has only been in Reception for 3 weeks - he won't even remember it by this time next year.

I really wouldn't worry about settling at this age. Choose the school that's best for your family. In reception friendships last 10 minutes and everything changes a lot in Y1 anyway. He'll slot right in to THE new school in no time.
