@Vitamushroom

Do you have children at the school?

DeepanKrispanEven · 21/12/2018 11:24

I just read the 2018 unannounced inspection visit and it did not really seem that bad - lots of aspects did comply and things that did not did not seem particularly important things.

A failure to report safeguarding issues is extremely important.

ourkidmolly · 21/12/2018 14:08

What's going on here? Surely if you're that unhappy you just leave? I don't the endless posting about governance.

MerryMax · 21/12/2018 14:42

What a mess. I can't believe anyone would carry on supporting the school now that they've been booted from ISA. It really takes effort to get that to happen!

HebbeJebbes · 26/12/2018 15:23

I agree with ourkidmolly, If you don't like leave, Vote with your feet and stop giving these incompetent morons anymore of your hard earned money. But if you do decide to get out of the school please leave your comments on here. The more people know about this terrible school the better. The Governors hate people writing on here and exposing their incompetence, they would sooner people leave quietly and not make a fuss. Don't let them get away with it, they need to be bought to account for there dismal performance.

hollyhaphazard · 26/12/2018 18:18

Sorry but this is outrageous. For a Roman Catholic school to be found to be deficient in safeguarding in anyway should have them jumping through every single hoop and fast. Given the church's enormous failing in safeguarding this simply can't be tolerated. They've had multiple opportunities over a long period of time to address the deficiencies and have wilfully chosen not to. This stinks all the way to heaven.

HebbeJebbes · 26/12/2018 23:34

The logic of these Governors is really quite something!

"Surely if you're that unhappy you just leave?"

So everyone leaves, so what are you left with?

No School!

You can tell these people have not got a clue!

MillieB1983 · 05/01/2019 16:24

Does anyone know why Vita is no longer part of the ISA? And does it really matter?

MikeDelta · 11/07/2019 13:09

All these issues have been squashed. The school is outstanding in every aspect.

My children go there and love the teacher and can't wait to go to school each morning.

They new head teacher is fantastic.

Can't sell it enough - Outstanding in every way. Smile

MikeDelta · 13/07/2019 10:59

Sorry no cronies allowed.

MikeDelta · 13/07/2019 11:02

The facts are:

1.My children go to the school.
2.They are well educated by the school.
3.They love the school (which makes learning a breeze for them)

  1. The teachers are fantastic- including the new head.
5 . The sence of community and belonging has returned to the school
  1. The school has passed its ISI inspection with high commendation.

My opinion is the most relevant in this post as I speak from a fist person perspective not from hearsay or old reports.

Therefore YOUR dated facts and opinions are IRRELEVANT as a fact you do not have children or are associated with the school.

Please keep your trolling opinions and dated facts to yourself.

Zeta07 · 13/07/2019 14:00

A lot of kids left as in 2016-17 as we had a family who started a propaganda ( please check the dictionary meaning of propaganda) and he convinced a lot of families to leave and go to st John ( off course he was getting a commission and discount in return). Long journey since then for the school. You can not destroy or build a school in a day or month. However the school is coming back to its glory days. Class 5 and 6 have a long wait list.

Our experience was that the school has one of the best nursery and early education team in Enfield and Haringey. Due to propaganda this part of school has suffered the most. I have done a detailed comparison with the offerings and quality with other private schools and was always happy with what we were getting.

And the most important things: when our kids come back they are happy. They love going to school. They have good company....

Also from data standpoint - the best data to measure is the current destination of leavers and we are very happy with what the school is achieving.....

To @NotaVitaCronyisBack and anyone else reading this thread.

As the Headteacher of the school I would rather not respond on this forum but the basic errors in understanding that are slandering current parents of my school cannot continue. My parents deserve respect always.
For the issues in question allow me to correct your outdated ideas definitively.

Your "fact": No longer titled "Catholic"
Actual fact: True. The diocese made a decision based on the activity of two years ago. They have refused to meet me and witness the wonderful school our school- church partnership has made.
The local church, Christ the King, works in partnership with the school in maintaining a high Catholic standard.
The only issue for any parent entering is whether local connections in Catholicity is more significant than titles from afar.

Your "Fact": Kick out of the ISA-
Actual fact: These organisations are Headteacher organisations. When the previous Headteacher left the next (me) can choose which membership to undertake. I chose the exceptional organisation for our school, IAPS. The school is inspected by ISI.

Your "Fact": Parents taking there children out at unprecedented levels

Actual fact: You refer to withdrawal under the previous Headship and instability. Since my appointment the turnaround in parent- school partnership has improved the outcomes for students academically and socially.

Your "Fact": A school run by a ex Deputy Head of a Tottenham state school.

Actual fact:
National career -
DFE Advisory group on Character
DFE signatory Equality and Diversity
Pearson Advisory group Assessment
co-founder BAMEed
FCCT

Secondary career-
Assistant Head Achievement team
Leading large Science department
Assistant Head Academic Team, Safeguarding Team

Primary career -
Senior Leader Islington Primary
Deputy Headteacher Tottenham Primary
I have worked extensively in education hence my skills, knowledge and understanding is substantial.
Please do not undersell my experience of leadership and impact in education. This is just a very short summary. Accurate information is publicly available.

I hope this clarifies the complete inaccuracy of the opinions you have raised, other wise your postings are "...worthless"
Please do arrange a visit so you can experience the difference in the school I am always happy to hold direct discussion on any concerns you have.
After all, I am sure your persistence is driven by the desire for positive outcomes for students at Vita et Pax it is just very ill informed.
I will not be responding to too many more posts but hope the statements of actual facts will help you consider yours.
Kind regards.

MCN23160 · 13/07/2019 15:22

I do not generally comment on these posts but feel as a parent of 2 children in the school I need to respond.
It is fair to say that Vita et Pax has had a tricky few years prior to the appointment of the new Head. It is really not surprising given the long standing Head retired and in many schools this can create an unsettled atmosphere. Furthermore the school was unlucky with the appointment of two successive heads who for a variety of reasons did not work out.
What has remained consistent throughout the time has been the quality of the teaching staff and the dedication and commitment from them. There was little to no movement of staff and this in itself speaks volumes. The children throughout have been well educated, developed and above all happy.
One of my primary reasons for choosing this school was the very special and wonderful atmosphere you feel when walking around. This is not a school where the children are prepped for visitors or only the very ‘best’ are rolled out for open days. There is no need for this because there is a genuine feeling that every child is given the best opportunity to thrive and this in itself is the reason why the children are confident, happy individuals whose enthusiasm for their school is truly evident when you meet them.
There is no doubt in my mind that the school is flourishing now under the stability of a wonderful, inspiring lady in the form of Miss Gay. It is incredible that anyone could question her credentials! We are certainly lucky that she has chosen us and I cannot wait to see how the school goes from strength to strength in the coming years.

I am also a parent with two children at Vita et Pax and just wanted to say that I am so happy with the school and more importantly, my children are happy. Like others have said, it has a wonderful atmosphere and the teachers are all fantastic. There was a bump in the road a couple of years back (where I should mention did not affect the children's learning at all because all the amazing teachers kept on doing their job regardless) but our new head Miss Gay is truly exceptional and is leading the school from strength to strength.

How anyone can negatively comment on our school when they have no children currently there or any association with it is beyond me. I feel truly lucky that my children go to Vita et Pax.

Miss Gay rocks!

Waystochangetheworld · 13/07/2019 18:04

Another happy Vita parent with happy children making excellent progress!

The atmosphere in the school is always welcoming and the children are always eager to show off what they are learning. I'm always surprised by how well the older children care for the younger years and take such pride in their responsibilities.

Rather than listening to the ranting of a bitter ex parent on line, take a tour, see the school for yourself. Speak to some current parents.

MFSB19 · 13/07/2019 18:29

Here we go again......... NotaVitaCronyisBack........ back from where exactly? Its obviously blatant you are someone that has no current connection to the school just past bitterness which may I add may or may not be fully justified. The point is here that you are referring to the past, have no idea how the school is currently run or how parents and staff feel about the school in its current status. Your comments are upsetting parents that have children at the school now, are irritating to staff that you have never met and really have no bearing today. We had heard about the discontent before we went ahead as I had a friend who had their child at VEP and in fact had the similar opinions as you but again the school as it was then and not now. We decided to go with the school and decide for ourselves about whether or not we would stay. My wife is on the PFA, has never met any of the governors and has no "insider' connections which got her on the PFA.
Miss Gay inherited many problems with different sections of the school, she has, and is working very hard to remedy all areas affected and is doing an excellent job and to try and belittle her by referring to her previous appointments is petty.
You really should move on and stop posting on here stop bringing up the past and have it out directly with the people that brought you to this position of hatred instead of hiding behind a username. We as parents of VEP today will judge the school and staff on our children's education and progress ourselves and if we choose to stick with the school we shall and if not we will move on just as you should.

Vitamummy80 · 13/07/2019 18:58

May I ask what your motivation is for publicly bashing the school?

Current Parents and kids are very happy with the school plus the new head teacher Miss Gay is always around and the children know her well. My daughter loves Vita Et Pax!

Isn’t it funny how these trolls, (who have now left Vita), are still very bitter and angry about the very same (ex) leadership that got us into this position in the first place and whom they still have close association with? Your problems are closer than you think!!!

I only wish you would focus the same energy into finding that perfect school your probably still searching for!!
