i haven't actually heard of them either, sorry! i would recommend phoning up the places above, plus the 2 you added, and go and have a look around. you will know when you have found the right school by whether you feel comfortable there, and whether you like the atmosphere or not. all the best x

Cambridgeshire LA handle in-year admissions for all those schools. You need to apply to them directly, and they can tell you which schools have places; you may not get much choice I'm afraid.

Maybe check out the local talk pages too - Cambridge talk - usually good advice on there about schools!

BikeRunSki · 16/09/2018 17:14

If you are moving into Y1, you need to find out which schools have places, and decide which one you like best.

If you select a school first, it could be that your choice does not have any places available in Y1.

Histon and Impington is highly regarded and feeds into Impington Village College, a very good secondary.

Look at secondary catchments while you're looking!

Thank you so much. Has anyone heard of Cottenham Primary School ? (walking distance, other schools need to drive) Apart from Histon and Impington Primary school, can you recommend other good schools which are good academically and the teachers are good ?

I am new to the area, your views will be highly appreciated. Thank you so much...

I agree with bikerunski- it doesn't really matter which school is your preferred school - you need to call the local authority and find out which schools have vacancies - then you can decide which you would like to attend. Do you know yet which schools have a free place available?

BringOnTheScience · 17/09/2018 22:49

Cottenham is one of the biggest primaries in the county but has a great reputation locally. I have several friends with children there and they all say good things about it.
HIIS & HIJS are similar sized intakes.

Cottenham & Histon are both big villages with good facilities.

BringOnTheScience · 17/09/2018 22:51

Cambridge village primaries are generally all pretty good! Smile

seantina · 18/09/2018 02:50

Thank you so much for all your advice.

Cottenham Primary school (walking distance) : No space
Histon & Impington (3 mileas) : Has space
Wilburton C of E Primary school (5.8miles): has Space

Have you heard about Wilburton ? Can you give me more views on the above schools and any other good schools within 5 miles of CB24 ?

Thank you so much again...
