Hi. I need to label all my DD school uniform before september and am wondering what sort to get.....
Iron on or sew in?? Iron on would be great for me as they are so easy. I found a website that does iron on transfers, they look quite good! Some people have said iron on ones peel off really quickly? Thanks.

I've had iron on ones and they don't peel off. Depends where you get them from. To remove them (when ds has grown out of them and I want to sell on ebay) I have to get the iron out again to heat up and remove!

I used the iron on ones from easy2name last september when dd1 started and they are still on ,they were more like a transfer though.

There was a whole thread recently about name tape porn. Was chuckling to myself as I virtuously sewed some on the other day. Do it as you buy things then put them away and forget about them. Nothing worse than a pile of clothes to label the night before.

I used easy2name too, haven't peeled off some things 2 years later!

I went for iron on woven ones from easy2name so I could stitch them on if they wouldn't stick (have had ordinary iron on ones from simply stuck before and they sometimes peeled off, especially if ironed on to quite stiff material). The woven ones have been fine - haven't had to sew any .

Hi. Thanks for your quick replies. I think I will go for the iron on ones, was looking at easy 2 name and the transfer ones look quite good. My daughter has itchy skin and cant stand labels and I have to cut out the lasbels at the back most of the time so these would probably work better. Found a cheaper place called able-labels but not sure about these!!

If you look above at the headings there is one marked 'discounts'. Click on that and at the bottom is a link to Easy2name with a code for a discount but if you go through the link Mumsnet get something as well
