Any tips for staying up to scratch while we wait?

So it’s a long story, but the short version is we moved at the end of July to a whole new area and applied for schools straight away. My two children (year 1 and year 2) still haven’t been offered places at any schools. I’ve chased and chased and chased. Im done being angry about it now, it gets me nowhere except stressed and short tempered. We just have to wait. Basically my question is what can I do to stay on top of their education whilst we wait? The council have said its still going to be a few weeks. So we could potentially be heading into October before they start, and then half term will be right round the corner. Are there websites I can be using? Books I could be buying? We read everyday and do some basic maths, but I’ve no idea what topics might be being covered in classrooms for those years. Please someone help!

These are the spelling list for each year group, and a website to practice, introduced by MN teacher Feenie.

If you know the names of the possible school your children might be going, have a look through their website, they may have a list of topics they are covering each term.

Good luck.
