This school was always the sought after one amongst people in Merstham. It is in the older part of town, and the other school (Furzefield) is on the large council estate. Merstham was seen as more middle class, but about 5 years ago it had 'Required improvement' on Ofsted, whilst Furzefield got a 'Good' which shook things up a bit. Since then I think Merstham has been rated 'Good'. There is also a new school which opened a couple of years ago called Lime Tree which will take some Merstham children, so not sure what impact that's had on Merstham primary.

I'd ask about how many vacant spaces there are in each year group - it's an indicator of how popular it is. I guess you might not have much choice though if you're an in-year applicant.

Thanks for your feedback..We know about the Lime Tree..Unfortunately they have no space in year we need, and as it is new school it does not have later years. My oldest actually got place in Furzefield, but I have heard nothing but bad things about that school...
It looks like we are really running out of options...
Thanks for your time for an update...
