How long do your children get for lunch? I teach year 2 and they have cut lunch from 1hr to 35 mins.

10 minutes to eat?! How does that even work? Aren't the kids either starving an hour later or suffering from massive indigestion? What the hell is wrong with our schools!

DD1 would manage approx 3 mouthfuls in 10 mins!

1 hour KS1 and 45 minutes ks2. Cut from 1 hour for budget and space reasons (expanding school so have split into 2 x 45 min lunches rather than 2 x 1 hour or trying to get everyone through in an hour).
KS2 kids notice the lack of playtime (no afternoon break).

300 kids, 1 hour lunch. School meals in (tiny) dining room, packed lunches in hall.
Afternoon play of 15 mins for KS1, at teachers' discretion for KS2,

Our primary school has 1 hour expect reception who have an hour and half they go to launch hall at 11.30 and it has to be cleared by 12.10 for next year's. By the end of the reception year they will be going down at 11.45 and get 25 minutes to eat.
