Reception/Primary teachers: first days at school

My daughter starts school on Thurs and is doing just mornings for the first two days.

Her first full day is the following Mon and we have just received a letter from her paeds with an appointment for that day.

Should I rearrange? She is on ASD pathway and it is a potentially important appointment that we have been waiting for for ages...but...I'm worried about upsetting the establishment of the school routine so early on, especially if it is going to be a tricky transition. Am I over thinking things?

What do you think? TIA

Keep the appointment...who knows how long you'd have to wait for another.

I work in foundation stage at a school and the first few weeks is all about playing and settling in so missing one day won't do any harm.

My ds first week at school he started on Monday and by Wednesday he had a sickness bug so missed the rest of the week...he settled just fine after that X

Take her to the appointment. Make sure school know why she is out.
Ask for school to be copied into any reports so they can implement any actions.

Definitely take her to the appointment.
As Apple23 said, let them know she now attends XXX school and for them to be included on the circulation list (if poss, get the name anddirect e-mail of the SENCo to give them).
Let the school know that is where she is going.

Not a teacher but don’t move it... the wait for these is rediculous

Seriously don't shift the appointment - we had a huge run of them just after DD2 started school last year (follow ups from her managing to get severe pneumonia in the middle of a heatwave and nearly ending up in ICU) and just had to lose the time out of school and it was fine - she settled in fine regardless.
