Saffron Walden help

Would love any advise from Saffron Walden locals regarding the school system and catchment issues. We are moving to SW on a limited budget and the best houses are not within catchment of our preferred schools (ideally not a faith school) so Katherine semar or r a butler.

Has anyone experienced getting a place when not in the exact catchment. Most parts if town seem to feed into st Mary's.

Any help would be appreciated as weighing up sacrificing location or house due to school issues. Dd will start next year

Many thanks

Have tou asked the council if all places are allocated to catchment children and if not what was the furthest distance offered to a non catchment child?

Only you can judge if downsizing the house in a better location is the right thing to do. Personally i probably wouldn't - is there not anywhere around SW you can look instead (newport/elsenham etc).
