School Uniform

I don’t know if I should post here. Although I read on MN and have posted previous I find it quite confusing to navigate sometimes.

Anyway, this is probably really silly and an easy answer but I get quite anxious over silly things and just looking for advice.
DS is entering year 2 in September, just before the end of year 1 he had grown out of uniform and bought him new trousers, jumpers etc, he got about a months use out of them maybe a bit more. Do I buy new to enter a new term? I have always done a bulk shop at the start of a term and of course things like new shoes, pe trainers, shirts and bags will be got for this term but the trousers and jumpers still fit him. Would I be quite mean to not buy fresh ones until he needs them?

I know it sounds silly because of course it makes sense to not spend anymore money unnessacarily but I like the idea of going in all fresh and new.

Advice please. ☺️

Hell no!

If they still fit him he doesn’t need new things just because it’s September.

I totally understand the anxiety around this but honestly, his things will be fine. X

No, of course you don't buy new school uniform if you don't need new school uniform, it would be mean to waste the old.

Flyingpigs247 · 23/08/2018 10:13

No. They're still new and fit him fine so no need to buy new ones just because it's a new school year.
I just get them the items they have outgrown or had for a while.
You can put the money aside towards Christmas or something else.
No point buying when they don't need.

mine will even keep last years shoes - they are only 5 months old, fit fine and are in great shape. the only bew thing is pe kit (different one required), shirts and a new backpack

DD had a growth spurt at the end of last term, so she has new stuff she has worn for less than a month, she will get a couple of new shirts so I have enough to do one wash a week (only bought her 3 as wasn't sure if she'd grow more over the summer) and some socks as I swear she eats them but I'm not replacing stuff shes barely worn.
