PUMA scores

Hello

So I may be nitpicking or not understand something. DS shows in school report to have a PUMA score of 115 with rating of working at National expectations.

I've looked up what these scores mean and it says >114 is working at great depth.

So does this mean something in his class work has been considered sufficiently below that standard to come at as 'working at national expectations' overall? Should I then know so what it is so that I can help DS work on that aspect?

Or is it just a typing error? 450+ school reports will always have 1 or 2 minor typos.

What do you think?

The scores are somewhat debatable as just one test. I would hope that as well as the PUMA test score the teacher has used their professional judgement which offers an overall judgement of your child's ability. It sounds like your child has a good understanding of maths and is almost at greater depth but needs more consolidation in regards to mastery maths. If you have any concerns, I would ask your child's teacher what area needs more work on in order to get mastery overall.
