Moving a child from current primary to junior school - HELP!!

Hi there,
we have been allocated a place in an amazing local junior school for our DD now 7 and I just don't know what to do... she is currently at a primary school where should could stay to year 6 but I am not overly impressed with it - apathetic governors and a change in the head/new head coming in this coming September that I know nothing about. DD does not want to move and is happy where she is and does well in school. I don't want to cause her a huge emotional upheaval but at the same time I don't want her to miss out on what could be a really amazing education full of great opportunities and positive teachers

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Moved mine at the end of Reception from a really crap primary to an amazingly good little Infants. Absolutely no regrets- was the best thing I could have done for her education.

But if you have applied for a place you must know you really want her to move. September is the best time to start a new school, especially if she is inyr3 going to a junior school. It may take a couple of weeks to settle in but she will be fine.

thanks weightedcompanioncube and missmapp
Yes/kind re: the move - I actually never thought we would get in. I think I am now just getting really cold feet and my DD keeps saying she really doesn't want to go...
