What information is sent to high school?

Just wondering what information primary schools share with high schools? I know high schools receive sats results, but do primary schools send their own assessments or pupils reports?

Unless there's an issue (SEN) or behaviour - thy send nothing

Every school will have their own system, but for a child with no additional support needs or social problems, an academic profile of sorts will go over.

Some schools may request a more personal report but depends on the size of the intake etc.

Children who need a little more support should obviously have those details communicated to the next school.

In this area secondary schools visit and have a chat with the y6 teacher to make notes on the child, family circumstances, social issues etc. Teacher assessments, details of Sen and children they should/shouldn't be in a tutor group with are sent on a form before that.

What will happen to the file that they have on the child not sure where the allergy letters are and school are the only ones who care enough to request a letter so they might have the original .

Not at all true.

It's entirely down to the secondary - my Y6 children are going to ten different high schools and each one wanted a variety of different information. Was a right royal pain in the arse.

SEN information and child protection information will be passed on to secondary schools.

Child protection files actually have to be handed over personally - in September, a member of the CP team drives around all the relevant schools to do exactly that.

Other information I've been asked for has included: predicted test grades, three best qualities about a pupil, three things they should work on, attendance, family information (parents/siblings), any other information that I think might be relevant, who from our school do they get on with, who they don't, etc, etc.

I have just done a foi request for my s1 son because of an issue. They sent me everything they had. They had the primary school reports from p1 to p7.. We are in Scotland. From secondary they had every conversation I had with them documented.
