Who to complain to?

Hi,

We are in the process of awaiting outcomes for in year transfers for our children for a September start.

I know the admissions dept are very busy which I can wholly appreciate but they haven't replied to any of my emails since 19th June (there have been 4) and they say they take up to 10 days to reply.

My queries were specific and needed answering and I'm still waiting. I've tried calling but nobody seems able to give me a straight answer on anything.

Who should I bring up by grievances/raise complaints with?

Thanks in advance..

Have you tried phoning instead of emailing?

Babymamamama · 11/07/2018 13:02

I would go in and try to speak to someone

Sunshine818 · 11/07/2018 13:34

Thanks both for your replies.

The council offices are 40miles away and I would struggle to get there in time after finishing work and the school run but that's a possibility if all else fails.

I've tried phoning and I'm always on hols for ages and then nobody seems to know the answers to my questions...

You need to identify the person in charge of your case and target them.

Honestly? If you absolutely need to move I would take some time off work to go in first thing one morning. It seems it would be worth a push face to face. But stay calm and don't go down the complaints route at this point as I don't think it will help your case. Diplomacy all the way. Good luck.

I called the school themselves and they told me that my child had been accepted. The council were useless

The Chief Executive of your local authority. His name should be on their website. Put complaint in bold/capitals in the subject line. Your email will then be passed down to the right person to deal with it!

Thank you for your input. I will approach with calm and hopefully will get some answers next week as it's now very close to the holidays!
