Reception new starters - it's time for classroom visits!

DD was supposed to have her first classroom visit (with us) yesterday but it was cancelled so she'll go tomorrow.
Then half a day in the classroom next week without us, ulp!
She's very familiar with the school/classroom as DS was in the same classroom but even so she's my BAYBEEE! and she's younger comparatively as she's a late spring birthday where he's Winter.

DD has a morning and an afternoon next week - but no initial one with us. Though we will be going to have a sneaky look at her classroom tonight when we are all at school for DS's parents evening ;)

She is 'older' than DS was, by nearly 5 months (though they are both technically summer born). She has been playing at the school playground (when picking up her brother) since she could toddle up to the equipment, and has spent numerous Christmas fairs and similar at the school, so feels very comfortable and relaxed at school which is a very familiar place to her.
(She'll be disappointed though that when you actually go to school, you know, for lessons and such, that it is not all play and running around outside!)

Consequently I think that starting school will be a very, very different experience for her than it was for DS.

Also I as the mum am less anxious, as I know a lot better what to expect.

I do have the 'but she's my baby' thing too though ;)

Yep this is my DD!

She is also not fully toilet trained in any real sense (under the continence nurse) and while they will cope - she had 2 changes of shorts just before leaving the house today so we will be sending her in whatever fits, at this rate! Given that school sent DS home in beige calf length trousers once when he sprayed himself with water I am not sure they will be too bothered.

Classroom visit today, she didn't want to leave. Keeps wanting to read the Ahlbergs book about starting school too.
