Anyone got a link that shows the oxford reading tree stages clearly? I keep finding info on bands but the books are in stages? I'm clearly missing something

I wouldn’t worry about the stages. Concentrate on the bands. There can be different book bands within the same stage.

How do you know which band? They only mention the stage on the cover. The band is the colour? Which are the colours/bands for yr1?

I think orange / turquoise is expected level for end of year 1

Look on the back there should be a small circle or semi circle with the colour on. End of year 1 children who are at expected would be turquoise

However, as noted above, bands and stages aren't exactly the same. Banding is, I believe, the newer system.

The stages are pretty meaningless esp when you get into jackdaw, robin etc territory

Thanks all. I get it now!
