Help Pearson Bug Club and Phonics Bug

Can anyone help me with how these two parts of the Pearson reading system relate to each other? DS3 is a good reader and has been working his way through the phonics bug levels and has recently read phase 5 set 25, 26, 27. At home he can read his brothers’ old Songbirds Stage 6 with relative ease if that helps with his approx level. He then tester got given a bug club ‘Blue A RR 9’ book which was exceptionally simple compared to his recent books. I queried this with his TA who said it was the next book on but looking at the Pearson Chart of books for Bug Club and Phonics Bug, Blue A does look like it correlates to the very start of phase 5 (around set 13 rather than 26/27) so it looked and felt like a massive step backwards - there were no words in it he hesitated at with words like ‘slime’ being as hard as it got as opposed to ‘audition’ and ‘competition’ in his previous reading book! Quite a contrast!! Should I query this again?

Or more importantly does anyone know what the next book level from phonics Bug phase 5 set 27 should be (can’t see a set 28 on chart!!)
