Hello all, we are new to London, Wimbledon in particular (moved from Canada earlier this year.) So the school system here is very new to me. Any advice appreciated. We have been denied all 6 of our choices (the 6 closest! listed in order of distance! so we weren't being unrealistic.) the closest was Hollymount which is less than 600m, second Wimbledon Chase also less than 600m... so on and so forth.
We are now 11 on Hollymount and 12 on Wimbledon Chase as of today. From experience, has anyone seen these lists move so much that we seem to stand a chance? We currently have her enrolled in Wimbledon High as a back up but are hoping for one of the above options. Everytime I call they schools are hopeful but of course say there is no gaurentee. So my question is: Has anyone actually seen the lists move this much from late June? Thanks in Advance xx

There is usually some movement on the list up till September so you do still have a chance of getting a place (I have seen the place allocated mid September, and the family pulled out of a private school where the child has already started). You will lose at least one term's fees though. Each year is different and no guarantees at this point.

You might get Wimbledon chase given there are 90 places at the school but I wouldn’t bank on it at all
Haven’t you already had to pay Wimbledon High fees and deposit? It would be costly to back out now.

Ps I’m sorry to say you were a bit unrealistic - Wimbledon chase and Hollymount are known for tiny catchments and this is listed on the admissions document very clearly. It’s why your house will be cheaper than the streets 500m closer to these schools.
I do sympathise tho - Merton admissions distances are crazy.

Yeah, our catchment (West Wimbledon) was something like 300m when my pair joined. Is Hollymount really nearest at 600m?!
