Hi, my kids are in year 5 I've asked for 3 days of for a little holiday but they won't authorize which is fine but they have said if I go they can remove them from the school register, can they do this , they have 100% attendance and it's only 3 days ? The school is an academy x

No they cannot. Under the Education (Pupil Registration) (England) Regulations 2006 they can only remove a pupil from the register once they have been continuously absent for at least 20 school days.

We are an academy but we can’t remove children from the roll for 21 days......

We would never remove a child after three days when we have been told where they are... even if that it is on holiday....

We can't until absence of 20 days but we have to also the Child Missing Education team at the LA. We are a MAT.

Just to add, just like the poster above me, if we knew they were on holiday we wouldn't remove them from roll.
