Im asking for a friend .... shes on holiday in spain without informing the school about it because she once asked at the reception , they told her she cant take them else she will pay £2500 fined. Does she need to call them to let them know or not ?

If she is absent without a reason the school are obliged to find out why. Sometimes they resort to going round to the house and even sending the PCSO. They will inform the council if they can't find them as Children Missing Education.

Yes, she does need to phone the school and tell them the truth!

Well, she certainly needs to call the school to report her children's absence, yes. I can't imagine lying about their whereabouts now will work given she already asked about taking a holiday!

Whether she's honest about where she is or not she should still get fine. It is an unauthorised absence. It is hardly rocket science for the school to figure it out anyway and children nearly always tell the truth when they come back in to school.

But it wont be £2500!

Thank you everyone ,she says she doesnt mind paying the fine and will email the school to let them knows
