Ks1 Sats 2019

Hi, does anyone know how you can find out the dates of the ks1 sats next year?

Wanting to book a holiday to go on Wednesday 22nd May (daughter will miss 3 days and yes I know I shouldn't be taking her out of school but we have special circumstances in our family and holidays are always authorised by the head so no fines are applicable to us) but she will be in year 2 and pretty sure that's when they do the sats? They break up on Friday 24th May.

Any ideas? Or ways I can find out? Obviously don't want her missing her sats x

The whole of May

The school decides when to do KS1 SATs. They can pick any time during the month of May.

The only way to find out is to ask them, but even they may not know yet.

Thank you, I'm not going to risk booking it for the 22nd just incase. Thanks everyone

They can be taken any time in May, and if she misses them she can do them when she returns, they really aren't very important, if your circumstances are at all special then I would say the SATS really aren't a reason to avoid.

Thank you, totally see what your saying. However the only thing is, although we do have special circumstances (my son is disabled) I don't know wether the head would authorise during exam time. She's usually very good but she might think I'm taking the mick abit booking during exam time and not authorise it.

I'll have a word with her when we go back after half term. Thanks everyone

And I totally agree sats aren't important, so frustrating that they have to do them!

In my experience (as a teacher), I would expect them all to be finished by then as it’s not often done in the very last week of May in case children are off school. Lots of schools either do it the same week as Year 6 or spread the tests out over the whole of May. The very final week of May is usually the week reserved for children who’ve missed it through illness or holiday do it!
