What is a community free school?

Looking for DC's first school place, locally we have a community free school that has higher than average academic achievements and an outstanding ofsted report.

The only problem I have is I genuinely have no idea what a community free school is?

Does anybody have any experience of sending their child to one?

A free school is a type of academy. There is no such definition as a community free school however I assume that they mean that they don't have any ethos or religious designation and so serve the local community.

Its just a local community school.

Free schools were set up as away of funding new schools.

But yes it has no religious affliation (although it will have to legally conduct collective worship of a broadly christian nature)
