Primary school admissions

Really stressed out with the reception aplication. My son didn't get the first choice even after 1 round of continuing interest. Now we are 4th on waiting list for round 2 . Any chances we might get it ??
Anyone been there ?

Whats a round of continuing interest? Where about are you?
Here we just have waiting lists.

Hertfordshire area. They put you on continuing interest -waiting list . They accept children from continuing interest- waiting list in 2 round . The 1st was last week . The 2nd is 18- June

It depends entirely where you are and is very difficult to predict. Some schools have lots of movement, particularly if they are in busy areas with families moving in and out a lot. Some schools the list won’t move at all. It might move lots one year, and not at all the next.

Be aware as well that you can move down the list as well as up, for example if someone moves closer to the school than you.
