Dear Lovely Mumsnetters,

Facing an impending move to Surrey (near Epsom) and am looking for pre-preps in the area. DD4 and DS2 - ideally in the same place so I can avoid two school runs! Someone mentioned Downsend Pre Prep but I missed the Open Afternoon. Any thoughts or advice? thanks Smile

Hello! How far are you willing to drive? I know a bit about the Cobham/Weybridge schools only....my twin boys (yes boys!) go to Notre Dame in Cobham and I cannot rave about it enough! The nursery is so so lovely and the children get use of all the school facilities...boys only stay for Reception - Year 2 though but there are plenty of schools locally which are co-ed or single sex that they can move onto. There are 17 in our class with 1 teacher and 2 classroom assistants...they get so much support. May be too far for you though, just wanted to share.

My little one is at Banstead Prep and loves it! They have fantastic facilities and a strong contender esp if you want co ed. Great bunch of mums & dads too which is a bonus x

I can highly recommend Banstead Prep. My son is in Reception there and he loves it. Brilliant facilities, teachers, ethos etc. The next open day is Thursday 7 June. Good luck with the move! Smile

My little girl is in reception at Banstead Prep. Great facilities, Forest Scool, swimming, even yoga classes. She loves it. Good wrap around care for working parents as well. Hope your move goes well. Epsom is lovely area!

I’ve got 2 at banstead prep school as well, one in reception and one in nursery. They’re both so happy there and have made so much progress. Facilities are amazing and the staff are all great. Wraparound care runs from 7.30 to 6 as well which really helps and can just be used on an ad hoc basis rather than booked in advance! Good luck with the move.

Hi I have a child in reception at Banstead prep, loves going to school everyday and has made so much progress. The teachers are so on the ball with the children and facilities are great. There is also a holiday club, Funzone, that keeps them busy and is now becoming more popular with the kids and it’s good they can go somewhere familiar on school holidays. 😃

Lowdoorinthewal1 · 25/05/2018 07:16

Gosh, 5 first time posters all here to recommend Banstead Prep! What a strange coincidence!

BeachyUmbrella · 25/05/2018 07:17

Do they all know each other? Confused

UnmentionedElephantDildo · 25/05/2018 07:21

I think they must - the school is not particularly big

LIZS · 25/05/2018 07:31

Agree, didn't know it had so many families as it is a relatively new incarnation!

mmzz · 25/05/2018 07:32

Similar writing styles, too.

I only hope that for such a small, but unequivocally beloved school, that the OP will be able get a place.

Chris303 · 25/05/2018 08:03

Yes - we do all know each other! One of the mums shared the post on our year group whatsapp. We are a small but connected community and proud to support our growing school 😊
