Hi all, what are peoples recommendations for school shoes? My heart is saying proper shoes from Clarks or startrite or somewhere but my friends little one is on his second pair of shoes since September already because his feet have grown so fast so wondering is it worth it or are there other cheaper ones that are good too?

My daughter's shoes have always come from Shoe Zone and Asda. They are perfectly fine for school!

Asda are good for shoes. They last well and do some sturdy comfortable but nice looking ones.

My dd feet grew mid term and asda didnt have any in stock in her size (I only buy ones which look sturdy, no ballet or too flat ones) so we had to go to clarks.... i am so dissapointed in them, the asda ones are better quality!!!

I bought my son a pair of Clarks in August ready for this year and they still look as good as new. I have been very impressed with them and will definitely be getting another pair next year.

It depends on the type of shoe. The ones that have lasted best for DD are simple sturdy Clarks ones with a rubber toe protector. These ones. And I found feet didn't grow that fast, but half a size up and they will fit quite a while.

We have a Clarks outlet near us which helps with cost!

DD has very narrow feet so no use getting supermarket shoes, but the ones I bought her in Sept from Clarks still fit her well and have life still in them.

Geox. They are bomb proof. My DS (5, Yr1, v active) has been wearing his for 15 months (slow growing feet). And they still come up ok when you give them a polish.

I'm a Reception class teacher - please, whatever you choose, make sure they're Velcro fastening, not laces!

Asda. Founds Clark’s crap tbh.

Local independent shoe shop here, it isn't something to skimp on

Geox savage. Indestructible!
