Hi everyone,
In August we are moving to a different area of London. When I called the relevant council to ask about applying for schools based on our August location, I was told that I had to apply with our current address, & that our application would be put way down on the waiting list for schools (because we are currently approximately 1.5miles away from our August location). I'm just wondering if it's worth applying now & be put all the way down the list (& be allocated a school close to our current location instead of our new location) - or is it worth waiting until August to apply & and therefore be more likely to get into a school actually near by us? Though I am worried there will be no places left in August! TIA.

If you apply and go on the list now, you should move up the list in August when you move and can show proof of your new address (exactly what and when depends on your LEA). The waiting list is kept in accordance with the admissions criteria, so you can move up and down the list accordingly.
