Please can someone demystify as last year school was using different descriptors and now am not sure whether the level of development for a primary school child goes from beginning to mastery or beginning to embedded? Think it's the first but not sure!!! Appreciate it if anyone can clarify - thanks!

Unless your child in in Reception, Y2 or Y6 where there are statutory descriptors schools can choose any labels so one school's mastery might be another school's secure and another's embedded. Only the school can tell you about the assessment system they use.

Our report normally comes with a description what each category means. And they seems to change the wording every year. Best to ask your school.
