two of my ds's spellings this week. Can anyone think of an easy way for a 5 (nearly 6) year old to remember which is which. A rhyme or something would be wonderful

So far DS & I have come up with
THE Race Ends THERE
THE I..... R..... etc

Please help

Here and tHERE are places ??

lilolilmanchester · 15/05/2007 16:24

agree with Whizzz. tHERE as a place worked for both of mine. I used to say WHERE? HERE? No THERE. will help with WEAR vs WHERE and HEAR vs HERE as well as THERE vs THEIR.

The Ill Rabbit was Theirs?

Not great, I know, but those are hard letters [gtin].

'Where? Here? No, there!' is the one I've always used

Thank you so much for those.
We can practise them better now for tomorrow

I will have to be careful with the places as we live near the town Ware.
Where are we? Ware, no where are we etc etc

I was taught here and there and heir and their. If your son understands what an heir is, it works.
Just had the same with dd just turned 6 she go the here there didn't understand the heir their so have explain, there is a place word, and their is a belonging word and she got that.
