Primary school -recommendations for Richmond / Hounslow borough

Hi everyone,

We currently live in Hounslow catchement area but our postcode is actually really close to Hampton which is Richmond borough.
All our primary schools in our catchement are not good at all so for next year we are tempted to only put schools outside catchement . do u think we will have a change to get a school? We are part of a Catholic Church in the Richmond borough so I am hoping we could get that school. Here is me hoping ..

What will be your strategy ?
Also which schools do u recommend ?
Anyone in borough of Houslow and happy about their primary school.

Our child is due to start in September 2019 so we have a year to decide.. worse case we go private but we would like to avoid if possible .

I’d be wary of not putting at least one catchment school on your list (unless you genuinely can afford private)! Look at the admission policies very carefully. Church schools generally require you to evidence weekly church attendance (through planned giving etc) for at least two years before you apply.

You probably have a fair chance of getting Buckingham, Heathfield and Twickenham Primary Academy. I think the new St Mary’s in Hampton has a lottery system. Is your local school Crane.
I think many Hounslow schools have bigger challenges than Richmond schools and aren’t quite as propped up by middle class parents. They have much greater numbers of kids who are at an early stage of speaking English. However they do have lots of parents who see education as very important. Depends where in Hounslow

I am not keen on Buckingham and heatfield either :( not read about twickenham , academy . Will have a look . Thank you.

Dont quote me but I believe Twickenham Primary Academy was undersubscribed this year so may be worth a look.
Stanley also has a big catchment.
