Sites to help with ds' science project please

ds(9) has a project to do based around an electrical circuit. He has a basic idea of what he wants to achieve but he (and dh!)are less up to speed on its execution. Was wondering if there are any sites which might show the components involved in different types of circuit to use as a starting point. tia
