I have been told by another mother that my dd y1 will be sittin sats with the Y2 in her class.
DD class is in a class with all the Y2s plus the older 1/2 of the Y1. I was told yesterday by a parent with a Y2 child that all the class sit the sats so that it can be just like a normal class. Meant to take the pressure off the Y2s.
Could this be ture and if so do you think the Y1 parents get told how their children did.

they will get a teachers assessment anyway as most yr 1 children in england will get, yr 2 sats are now very informal

Could be worse DS was in a mixed yr2/yr3 class and had to do year 2 sats again even though he was actually in year 3

I did this when I had a year 1/2 class because I had to keep the Yr1's busy and quiet while the yr 2 did their SATS but I didn't give them the actual papers so there were no grades to give parents. It was rather they sat working together as a class rather than all doing the actual SATS.

So it many be ture but it probably won't be the real thing. It's just nice to know what's going on. Mind to does seen a little young to get them doing test of any sort even if its not the real thing.
