Ark Conway Academy School

Hello members,

I am desperate for your advice.
My son currently attends ARK Bentworth reception class and has been on the waiting list for ARK Conway, he has recently been offered a place at ARK Conway and we would really appreciate your thoughts and opinions about the quality of teaching and the general "mood" of the school.

I was really impressed with ARK Conway at the open day and wanted to get the views of other parents about homework , level of support given to the children , extra curricular activities etc.

I have heard about high staff turnover and recuitment/retention issues.
Please share your thoughts.

Ark expect a lot from their staff: amazing outcomes, extreme dedication, teaching in a very specific way, great progress etc which is part of the retention issue. Quite a few of the more senior staff move between the ARK schools.
Their schools are brilliant and Conway does have amazing outcomes. I have visited ARK Bentworth and if I was you, would move your DS. Both are very similar but different catchments. I preferred the 'feel' of Conway.

Sorry just re-read. Obviously all schools expect teachers to make sure their pupils make great progress, attainment, are dedicated etc. but my point is ARK expect this to an extreme degree. They work their staff incredibly hard. It is for the sake of good outcomes but to a greater degree than many other schools including other excellent schools.
