Reddiford School Pinner

I have two boys and we are looking for a good Prep school for them. We wanted to get some advice on Reddiford School in Pinner. We have so far received conflicting advice from few parents we know.
We like the Academic results and the fact it’s Coed School. We have applied at Orley Farm, St John’s, St Martins and Buckingham Prep.
We are visiting Reddiford this week so I’ll share my thoughts.
Any advic?

What are your concerns about Reddiford?

We have decided for St John’s. Reddiford was good but they don’t offer freshly prepared hot lunch which was the deciding factor for us. Also, we know few parents who have either moved their children or are in process of moving to other schools due to lack of good teaching staff as quite a few have moved. Personally I found Reddiford senior management a bit snobbish towards me which was weird as I didn’t feel like this at any other school. We were really torn between Buckingham Prep and St Johns and have to say that headteacher at Buckingham Prep was superb and took really keen interest in my son and explained about the school most effectively but St Johns is nearer to us so we have gone with that. Hope it helps.

You may want to understand the change in policy regarding 11+ and entry into merchant Taylor's.

What's the change in policy for MT

I have a good knowledge of Reddiford school, staff have not left and nor are children leaving so unsure where you are getting this information from. I can’t imagine staff being snobbish towards you, it’s not that sort of school

Our neighbour have moved their son to another school and the reason they told us was the teachers who have moved from the school which has had negative impact on their son. I have recently moved here from India so my accent isn’t quite the same as some of the senior management I met who’s attitude felt some what snobbish. Perhaps they were trying to gauge if I could afford fees for my two children. Head teachers weren’t as approachable in my opinion as I found at some of others. Head Teacher at Orlay Farm, Buckingham Prep and St Johns were all very pleasant to talk to and I didn’t feel as if they judged me for my accent or ability to pay my children fee. Having go through this somewhat exhausting process, I will not recommend Reddiford School. Buckingham Prep is a better school and not far from this one.

It’s a shame that you seem to have got the wrong impression of the school when you looked round, did you meet the headteacher, which age group were you looking at for your children? I still don’t understand about saying teachers have left because they haven’t

pasta261 · 16/03/2018 20:36

Children have a different teacher each year anyway so unless a teacher left during the school year which as I say they haven’t, how could that have a detrimental affect on a child
