Starting Art club

Can some one guide me how do I start a art club.

I am NVQ3, I do art work at home and sell my painting. I am interested to teach kids about art and painting. How do I go about it?. Things I need to know

  1. Whom do I approach to take clubs? ( as most of them take only their teachers to take clubs)
  2. Do I need to pay school for starting club? Or using their place ? And how much do I pay roughly ?
  3. Do I need to be registered if it's just for an hour?

Please let me know

Are you thinking of charging or not? If you are thinking of charging, you’ll probably need some sort of liability insurance and you’ll need to cover the cost of hiring some school space and covering your time and materials.

You will need to talk to the school(s). Perhaps start with the school your own DC attend(s)?

Clubs at schools vary hugely; at some schools all clubs are free and led by school staff, at other schools all clubs are fee-based and offered by external organisations. Or there may be a mix. Where most clubs are free, a school will probably gladly discuss you offering a further free club, subject to DBS checks etc. In that case you usually shouldn't have to pay for using the premises. Where most clubs are fee-based, the school will view you as yet another external provider. They will charge you the same rates as they charge others, and the fees you ask for should probably be in line with what other clubs cost. This varies wildly from school to school, area to area.

I run a club at my DC school. I charge £3 for one hour after school, which is a bit cheaper than other clubs here. School charges me £1 per child attending per session, plus insurance, and I had to pay for my own enhanced DBS. Taking costs into account, I am hardly making any money at all.
You need to consider the demography of your target school(s) too, to determine what parents may be willing to pay for your club. And how many other clubs there are already.
