Research on Shakespeare ... for a 5 year old

Where can I find some simple information about William Shakespeare for my Year 1 dd? All of the books and websites we've found so far are way over her head.

Shakespeare for 5 year olds when there are some of the class who can't read three letter words phonically yet ...

Tell her it is his BIRTHDAY TODAY !!!!!!!

He is 443 today !!!!!!!!!!!!

April 23, 1564

That's why they're researching him, Kanga!

The teacher told them it was his birthday today (and dd thought I was old!) but she didn't tell them how old he was. They're doing things this week on St George (as it's St George's Day) and Shakespeare.

OKe doke

WigWamBam · 23/04/2007 18:24

Thanks, Kanga.

I'd googled and found lots of sites, but none that were aimed at such young children - and I want her to be involved in finding the information out, not just for me to find it all!

Nice picture book here .

Maybe your local children's library would have a copy?
