holidays in school time??

hi my son is due to start school in september and we are wanting to book our hol but it would be 13 october for one week which would mean him taking a week off school i dont know do they frown upon this or is it ok to do???

Officially they will frown on it and you have to request permission,to which they can say no. However apparently it doesn't go against the school's official attendance record until he is legally of school age ie. the term after he has turned 5 in England.

yes he doesnt turn 5 till january 2008 plus he has autism so it was really so that it was a breaking him into school slowly thing as we are due another baby in july this year then he starts school in september so i thought 6 weeks at school then a little hol would be good for him aswell as us
