5yr olds walking across playground in knickers? Wrong?

I found out today that children in year 2 (about 5) were going to PE and some of the children were walking across the playground in their knickers and pumps.

Is it just me, or is that downright wrong

Primary pe uniform would be a nightmare for the teacher. We had to have gym gutties when I was at primary school and just took jumper off. Ds's class the same. And they keep the shoes in school like we did. When his feet change size I'll send a bigger pair in. By secondary school I had to remember to lift it out, put in bag and take in the right day. And remember to shave legs and stick on decent undies as no cubicles, communual changing. (Still wear my nice undies when I go swimming now).

Margo,

Was your sister forced to wear green knickers? It sounds like a nightmare from my childhood.

I don't agree with chikdren doing PE in their underwear. It us not dignified even in primary. I am glad that dd had shorts and a tee shirt.

happy to oblige drop your sword. stumbled across the item and didn't check how old it was.

? I don't get the question - are you worried the children might have been cold?

MrsKCastle · 10/01/2016 10:04

My immediate thought was the cold. There's no way children should be outside half-dressed at this time of year, that's downright cruel. If they have to walk across the playground, can't they just take their PE kits and change in the hall?

MrsKCastle · 10/01/2016 10:05

Aargh, just seen the original date.

honeysucklejasmine · 10/01/2016 10:06

Perhaps OP is worried about them being visible to the outside world? If the playground is visible from the street, for example.

Argh! Why does the zombie alert only show for a limited time?! It should always be there if the thread is this old!
