Maltman's Green Year 3 entry

Hello

We're considering a Y3 entry for our DD. I understand from the school that the girls come in to meet some of the staff and spend a little time with them before a firm offer of a place is given. They say that as the school is non-selective, that it's just to assess where the child is and what support they might need (if at all) to get them on a par with the other girls. Does anyone have experience of this? I've heard that for other schools this is more of a formal assessment process and I just don't want to be caught out. Thanks.

My DD didn’t go to Maltmans but had an assessment at Godstowe which is also not selective. She was not assessed in a way that would have required prep and it was fine. I think you have to believe them. They just do not want special needs they cannot cope with.

Oh that makes sense. Thanks for your reply. I hadn't thought of that aspect.
