Where the hell can I get trousers

Aren't to short cos I've had to go down to stupid small sizes just to fit around the waist?

Have tried

Next slim fit- great round waist but so tight round crotch she can't cross legs

Age 11 skinny leg next- she could fit 2 of her in it

Asda skinny leg - gone down to age 8-9 and still too big but any smaller wluld be to short in leg

M&s - scratchy with duck sides

Don't want to pay John Lewis and uniform shop prices she's in her final year so just few months left.

But it's cold and she can't wear tights

So does anywhere do comfy trousers that are sensible sizes?

Verbaudet online. I have never bought school uniform items from them but their jeans and trousers come in three different waist sizes. My daughter is tiny around the waist, slightly shorter than average and the medium width ones fit her perfectly.

I have tried every single high street store and not one fits!!

Unfortunately they don't appear to sell school trousers. Tbh we have given up on the trousers front these days at home besides the occasional pair of skinny jeans that she will sometimes wear she lives in leggings as usually they are tight enough to stay up somewhere on her person even if the waist is a bit big.

But scholl trousers seem to have been impossible to find since reception when we found a fab pair only they changed the style/cut enough to mean that the next size up never fitted her...

It's ridiculous I don't think she's abnormally small

When you say you don't think you're dd is abnormally 'small' di you mean waist size or height?

My dd is 12 and is really tall for her age with a proper woman's figure (bum and hips). I found I had to look in women's sizes for school trousers. We ended up looking in work wear at places like New Look. If you tried a size 8 or petite they might just work.

Sainsbury's are fairly slender cut (my 11yo is tall and slender, and in their 11yo trousers). Pretty inexpensive too- 2 pairs for £9. They have waist adjusters in, which she uses, though no pockets in girls' versions.

We ended up buying these. I found that looking for 'Bengaline' in the description helped us find the right fit. Skinny for not spray on.

Try Gap online. Always a sales code with 30% of as a minimum

Why don't you buy proper woollen tights and a longer/thicker skirt?

They're not snug, btw, but definitely not itchy (she has ASD).

Do GAP sell school uniform? My daughter is a prescooler with sensory issues and refuses to wear things with adjustable waists and is super skinny. Its the only shop I can buy leggings from

As far as I know, Gap don't do school uniform.

She can't wear tights Ttbb

She's got loads of skirts too so don't really want to be buying more. Adjustable waist things irritate her too so nothing that needs major pulling in.

She's too little for adult sizes sadly even the 9-15 range jammies fall off

I know your pain - DD is very small for her age. I couldn't cope without adjustable waist thingies so it must be really hard if you can't use those.

How are your sewing skills? I often have to take tucks in waist bands.

I have the same problem. So frustrating. I've taken to making my own trousers in a variety of flattering materials and colours, such as a lush deep burgundy velvet pair of flares. Good luck!

Sewing? I haven't sewn anything in yrs and even then it was just name tags til I discovered the Sharpie

Yes at moment we are trying to get away with leggings. Adjustable ties are ok as long as we don't actually use them and they remain fairly flat against the waist band but they become irritating as soon as they have to he used to seriously pull stuff in. I know she's not lying either as the hips/waist areas start getting the eczema rash where she scratches at it...

Why do they make them all so baggy

I have to admit that I put a dart in each side for gym kit- even with elastic waists, for the length needed the waists are always too big. It's pretty easy, even with my basic sewing skills, and done by hand.
I suppose they're made to fit all body shapes, and you can always adjust to smaller... probably harder if your child is too large to fit them!
But I share your frustration at trying to meet your child's needs for comfort.
DD used to wear joggers over her tights/under her skirt to walk to school in cold weather, that she took off at school. They were good about letting her wear them at playtime too if she felt the need. Now she's Y7, she was over the moon that new school had trousers for girls as an option!

Your best bet is probably to get some taken in professionally if you can’t sew.

They make her itch.

Last time she scratches through them it got infected and to add insult to injury they stuck to the wound and pulled the scab off. Was extremely pain ful for her and she's not worn tights since.

They would be pretty good actually I like the ankle detail. Would avoid tripping over the bottoms...

They sold out and only go up to 7-8 though :(

But thanks I shall certainly keep looking on that site as I like the cotton idea and the reduction makes it a bit more affordable
