How did your child improve their maths skills? Which sites are useful?

My DD (Yr 6) is struggling in maths, her mock SATs result for maths is on the low side. I don't want to wait until parents' evening to address this, but I won't get to see the teacher after school because of my work shift pattern.

The likes of Kumon/Explore Learning and so on are out of the question as they don't give 1:1 or even 1:2 guidance. I'm hoping to get some workbooks and support her learning myself until I find a tutor or small tutor group. I'm only educated in maths to GCSE level myself so I don't see this as a long term fix. Any recommendations for these? I'm thinking of good old Lett's.

Which websites would you recommend that help explain maths concepts rather than just supply quizzes? And what are the key differences in the paid subscription maths resources? Any tips would be appreciated :)

I recommend this site. It has detailed video tutorials for each topic/skills and practice questions. And free.

Have you looked at the maths mastery information on the tes website?

It's very useful and there is usually a short video to accompany each topic along with worksheets.
