Wimbledon prep schools

Just shocked to have found out that you need to register DS from birth to stand a chance of getting into one of the prep schools in Wimbledon

Anyone have any recommendations?

I have heard of Rowena, Willington - any others?

What are people's views? £150 non refundable deposit just to get on a list seems extortionate

Unfortunately it's the nature of the beast. We lost a deposit and a term's fees when we pulled out of a school when DD started prep, it is frustrating but the key is to try to find the best fit as early as possible. The struggle is knowing what your DC will be like from birth, obviously it's impossible. Fortunately not all the schools need registration from birth and are a bit more reasonable. How old is DS?

Go to visit as many as you can as they are so different. Have a think about what's important to you/your family in education- do you want your DS to be pushed from day dot or do you want a more rounded education?
