Hi,
I am thinking to enrol my child here for nursery and reception and I was wondering if anyone had any feedback? From the outside it looks like a great place, but I wanted to see what parents experiences are of the school, specifically if they do a lot of sport activities?
Thanks in advance!

We have chosen PGH for our DC. I like the fact it's friendly and there is a good variety of activities. We are very happy with it.

Sport isn't our main concern but there seems to be a fair amount in the curriculum as well as swimming, ballet, karate. Several sport clubs available.

We chose it due to the friendly down to earth vibe, it feels like the kind of school I would have wanted to attend as a child!

I know several people who have had DC there and they have all been happy with it. Small, nurturing school, very good for the KS1 years (lots of pupils, especially boys, leave at 7/8+).

Because of small numbers, it's not that strong at team sports, but you could go to a club for those. In terms of PE, fitness, and other games, it seems to be fine.

And I think that they still have riding as a curriculum sport. And that it's RAD for ballet.

Friends found the low numbers higher up the school an issue
If you are the only boy in class it may be tricky

Thanks very much for your responses. I am going to visit it in October but I like that it's small and friendly. So far my interaction with them has been very warm, in other schools they have not been so nice and approachable. Is the ratio male to female not equal in this school?

Best to ask the school for the ratios
If lots of boys leave then I can be mostly girls in the upper years

I did a visit as well a couple years back, I really like the Montessori approach for the first couple of years. the staff were very approachable as was the headmaster.

Really lovely school all about education. Pretty much equal number of boys and girls throughout and lots of sports. New swimming squad, elite tennis etc.

It's great in the lower years, but not so good the further up you go. A few children in the last couple of prep 6 years have failed to get into schools of their choice and unfortunatley the school doesnt have the reputation to get them in. Also the school seems to be run by very clicky parents committee. Great for kids until about 7, not pleasant for parents.
