Primary admissions booklet / information for Sep 2018 - when is it available?

Maybe I'm too keen!

When is the information usually available? I'm surprised that my local authority still has the Sep 2017 information on its website even though applications have (I think?) opened now for Sep 2018. Is that normal?

The 2017 info will probably be very similar to the 2018 info, so you can get a pretty good idea of what to expect even if you only have this year's process.

You're too early, most admissions for primary run from mid-november and submission date is mid-January. What do you want to know, or do you want to apply now?

BubbleAnimal · 03/09/2017 17:04

Here primary submissions are after secondary. So secondary open tomorrow, due to close mid october. Primary then open a couple of weeks later, to close early Jan.

Ours is already on Sept 2018 and we've got our application in.

At the risk of patronising you, have you cleared your cache before visiting the website? Just in case.

I think some will reset tomorrow, being the first Monday in September and therefore the first day of term for many LAs.

WobblyChair · 03/09/2017 18:58

I've just checked an applications open on 1 September of each year - so open now - but definitely no information for this year yet. Cache cleared and re-checked too!

Hopefully it will pop up tomorrow. Have read last year's information from cover to cover already Blush . We're in a difficult spot so I'm keen to see this year's admissions numbers, whether there are any changes to catchment areas etc.

Very sensible!

MrsJamin · 04/09/2017 07:21

You should be able to find the info from April this year that said how many children got in through different categories of admission, the most useful being the distance that the furthest child got in, so you can at least work out which school you'd have got into last year. That is super useful as a guide to show you your chances for this coming year although of course numbers do vary a little.

Thank you MrsJamin

MrsHathaway you were exactly right: the website has refreshed today!

I've a nice evening ahead of reading the new booklet!
